Quick bump: Ambiguous values
Values are your core principles about what is important in life. Kamala Harris seems to be telling us her values are... whatever other people's are.
In her first interview after being nominated the Democrat Party's candidate for president, Kamala Harris was asked to defend her inconsistent record. She repeatedly invoked her values:
Well, let’s be clear. My values have not changed. ... I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed.
... we should meet certain standards for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, as an example. That value has not changed.
My value around what we need to do to secure our border, that value has not changed.
... prosecuting transnational criminal organizations, violations of American laws regarding the passage, illegal passage of guns, drugs, and human beings across our border. My values did not change.
She values meeting standards and enforcing laws. Not even her own standards and laws, but other people's.
At best, these are the weak values of a follower. At worst, these aren't values at all. Like Donald Trump, Harris shows no sign of having deeply-held values beyond self-interest. Americans beware.
